The Hares and the Foxes = Perry 256 (English translation: Oxford Aesop 51)

Λαγωοί τινες πρὸς ἀετὸν πόλεμον συγκροτοῦντες τὰς ἀλώπεκας εἰς συμμαχίαν προσεκαλοῦντο. αἱ δὲ πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπον “ἑτοίμως ἂν εἴχομεν συμμαχεῖν ὑμῖν, εἰ μὴ ᾔδειμεν τίνες τέ ἐστε καὶ τίνι διαμάχεσθε.”

Οὗτος ἐλέγχει τοὺς τοῖς ἰσχυροτέροις προσκρούοντας καὶ ἑαυτοῖς ἐξ αὐτῶν κίνδυνον ἐπάγοντας.
