Our students deserve as many opportunities to display thier success. It is a great skill to read Latin literature, which countless Universities would appreciate to see in their applicant pools. Why limit the rewards and possibilities for our stude...
I think a policy decision as large as sacrificing the future our cultural (republican) heritage in favor of Chinese should not be left in the hands of a private institution motivated by profit, such as the College Board.

About Me:
I'm the Director of eLearning for Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers (www.bolchazy.com), an academic press specializing in Greek and Latin textbooks. When outside, I'm usually accompanied by a soccer ball or a three-year-old girl or sometimes both. I have an MA in art history and archaeology (specializing in Greek plastic vases) from the University of Missouri - Columbia, and a BA in archaeology from the University of Evansville as a member of the first graduating class from this remarkable department.

Prior to working at BCP, I spent nine years at Willoughby Associates, a museum database management company where I trained over 1,000 museum professionals at over 100 institutions worldwide on how to use our software. I also created eBooks of our documentation, produced tech tips and tutorials, and enjoyed getting even the most technophobic museum person interested in using the database to manage both the content and context of their collections.

Find me on World of Warcraft on the Feathermoon realm as Philabovis, the affable level 70 Tauren hunter and leader of the Carpe Praedam (Latin-language) guild. I am also in Second Life as MagisterP Holmer, and operate a market stall and Latin-language villa in the Roma sim there.

Best/worst computer-related classroom happening:
I once taught folks how to use a museum database management system at Cornell University during rains that were so bad the ceiling leaked, separating me from the class with a thin wall of water for an entire day.

American Classical League Pre-Institute Workshop on free e-utilities for Latin teachers

I presented a pre-Institute workshop at ACL last week on how to download, install, and use Skype, Audacity, WeGame, Second Life, and World of Warcraft (machinima projects and live interaction in Latin). I thought that others might benefit from the 60-page, illustrated handout, so I have attached it to this post in PDF format.

Thanks for the warm greeting
In fact I wish to find a good reference concerning how to put the greek TONOS while spelling nouns, I'm not asking about where to move it but about its position in the nominative case of each word
about technology used in Egyptian schools I think that my country is retarded we've lately started learning in schools using computers
note : I'm a medical student at the fifth grade

Thanks Andrew! I talked to your sales reps at INCH in Lansing in May and purchased the "Green Eggs an Ham in Latin" book.

So I've started a facebook group to try and get the message out. Additionally, I have started relaying the message through various e-mail trees. How is the fight going?

See how pale, wan, and wistful I was before learning Latin? I had to subsist on salads of modern languages: wisps of French, slices of Spanish, the occasional crouton of Geman -- with, of course, hefty chunks of English (grilled a l'anglaise, barb...
