The Eagle and the Fox = Perry 1 (English translation: Oxford Aesop 155)

Ἀετός τις τῇ ἀλώπεκι φιλιωθεὶς τοὺς αὐτῆς μετὰ ταῦτα καταβέβρωκε σκύμνους. ἡ δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν μὴ δυναμένη τῆς θείας δίκης ἐδέετο κατ’ αὐτοῦ. μιᾷ γοῦν συμβέβηκε θυσίαν τινὰ ἐπὶ βωμοῦ κατακαίεσθαι, ὁ δὲ ἀετὸς καταπτὰς βρῶμα ἐκεῖθεν ζέον ἐξήρπασε καὶ τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ νεοσσοῖς διαδέδωκεν. οἱ δὲ νεοσσοὶ ἐσθίοντες ὑπὸ τῆς ζέσεως εὐθὺς διεφθάρησαν.

Οὗτος δηλοῖ ὡς οἱ τῶν ανθρώπων δυνάσται καὶ ἄδικοι, εἰ καὶ παρὰ τῶν ἀδικουμένων μηδὲν πάσχουσιν, ἀλλά γε ταῖς ἐκείνων ἀραῖς θείαν ἀγανάκτησιν ἐπισπῶνται.
