How do you like teaching Latin in the charter school? Classics not big in Latin America? That's a shame, since it's the mother tongue of Spanish.

I am about to begin my second year teaching Latin at a charter school in Mass., but looking to teach overseas in 2010, ideally in Central/South America. I have heard from a number of people that the only international opportunities I would have to t…

Hi Valerie: Thanks so much. I submitted app. to "carney." Thank you. I love cats, too. The South is warmer, and I agree, more "up there" concerning the classics. A change of geography is a possibility for me, as the older I get, the less I like cold…

Role in the Classics Classroom (real or virtual):
teacher
About Me:
I have been a Latin teacher for the past 12 years. I started teaching middle school, but have been at the high school level for the past 10 years. I am the sole Latin teacher at my school and am looking to connect with other colleagues.
I graduated from the M.A.T. program at UMASS Amherst in '95.
I use Ecce Romani.
Favorite on-line spots for the Classics:
vroma: great for images
Best/worst computer-related classroom happening:
I spend a great deal of time creating power point presentsations on cultural topics that come up in Ecce. I find them useful for bringing the "Romans" into the clasasroom. I use an LCD projector to display my work.
