Text Analysis Overview with the Nora Project
Demonstration of text analysis and classification software produced by the nora project, www.noraproject.org. nora is free software that allows scholars working with humanities text collections to examine individual words and features constitutive of a Naive Bayes or SVM prediction. Work on nora was funded by the Andrew W. Mellon foundation. Note that the Nora Project has morphed into the MONK Project at www.monkproject.org. While the video focuses on the poetry of Emily Dickinson, the technology is scalable to analyzing Classical texts.
