More wired than a Roman Internet café

My work on Latinum continues - I do some work for the podcast every week, and I am now gradually processing the Comenius material, which is slowly making its way online. Comenius is proving surprisingly popular - I think the reason for this is the existence of a huge body of texts in multiple languages, making his works by far the most accessible textbook for an international audience - all this, despite its having been written in the sixteenth century.

The map above shows all the hits on Latinum over the past 10 months. Latin passed the 3 millionth audio download around New Years Day. daily downloads now vary between 8,000 and 14, 000. The site is due for a hardware upgrade, which will speed up the time it takes for a file to commence playback - when this happens, I expect the podcast to become much busier.
