The Lion and The Two Bulls = Perry 372 (English translation: Oxford Aesop 59)

Λέων προσβαλὼν ταύροις δυσὶν ἐπειρᾶτο τούτους καταθοινήσασθαι. οἱ δὲ τὰ ἑαυτῶν κέρατα ἐπίσης αὐτῷ ἀντιπαρατάξαντες οὐκ εἴων τὸν λέοντα μέσον αὐτῶν παρελθεῖν. ὁρῶν τοίνυν ἐκεῖνος ὡς ἀδυνάτως ἔχει πρὸς αὐτοὺς κατεσοφίσατο τοῦ ἑνός, καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἔφησεν ὡς “εἴ γε τὸν σὸν ἑταῖρον προδώσεις μοι, ἀβλαβῆ σε διατηρήσω.” καὶ τούτῳ τῷ τρόπῳ ἀμφοτέρους τοὺς ταύρους ἀνῄρηκεν.

Οὗτος δηλοῖ ὡς καὶ πόλεις καὶ ἄνθρωποι ἀλλήλοις ὁμονοοῦντες οὐ συγχωροῦσιν αὐτῶν τοὺς ἐχθροὺς περιγίνεσθαι· τῆς δ’ ὁμονοίας καταφρονοῦντες εὐχερῶς ἄρδην τοῖς ὑπεναντίοις ἁλίσκονται.
