After majoring in Classics at the University of Chicago, and doing my graduate work at UCLA, I decided to teach at the high school level rather than university so that I could really spend my time teaching instead of researching. I was hired by Fort Worth Country Day School to (re)introduce Latin to their curriculum (it was offered in the distant past, but not for over twenty years), and was successful enough that we had to hire a second Latin teacher in only the third year of the program! I am also an avid theater buff, and directed the fall play at school for five years, including one year's production, Oedipus Tyrannus set on an Old West cattle kingdom! (It sounds crazy, but believe me, it worked!)
