Profile Information

Hometown/Institution:
Sts. Peter and Paul High School
Role in the Classics Classroom (real or virtual):
teacher, Classics supporter
About Me:
I teach both Latin and Spanish at the high school level. I guess you can say I'm in love with Latin, and my students know it and frequently pick on me for it. They love to peak their head in and say "Latin is dead!" So I can chase them down the hall with my foam "gladius." Never during classes of course.
My Website:

Favorite on-line spots for the Classics:
http://eclassics.ning.com
Latin-teach Forum
Tar Heel Reader
ACL Classics webpage
There are SO many others so please feel free to mention I left you out.
Favorite on-line spots for education:
Grooveshark.com -- Cannot download, but can play almost any song FREE
YouTube/TeacherTube -- Both great resources for many things
EdLine -- Had to say it!
Best/worst computer-related classroom happening:
One time, in my first year of teaching, I planned an entire lesson based on having my computer. I had fancy powerpoints, a story to be read from a mythology webpage, and then a clip from the movie Troy. I was really excited and then my LCD bulb went out and I had no back-up. Word to the wise...ALWAYS have back-up. I didn't and my students knew I was flying by the seat of my pants. It was a great lesson...for me!
