I'm Australian, but have lived in SE Asia for the past 17 years; presently in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Although I was a teacher for 32 yrs, I never actually taught classics ("officially"). Eng Literature, European History and Drama were my main fields.
However, I've always kept up my reading & translating of Latin: most recently, Ovid, Martial and Cicero. In the past few years, I've dabbled a little with Medieval latin and want to explore this further. Currently reading "Foundations of Latin" by Philip Baldi and am revelling in Oscan, Umbrian, Sebellian. Real fun! Do you know if any eLearn members are interested in the other Italic/pre-Latin languages?
Now that I've retired from paid employment, I intend to spend more time with the classics; perhaps even taking the plunge into Attic Greek!
