Role in the Classics Classroom (real or virtual):
teacher
About Me:
My students know me as a sort of uber-nerd crossed with something a little eclectic and fun. Classroom assignments have ranged from the grammar basics to translating StarWars and David Bowie songs. But you see, I don't believe that Latin should be confined to the crypt of so called dead languages. We're its native speakers more than we know and postmodernists care to admit.
My background integrates a BA in Classics with an MA in Medieval Studies. Some subsequent work has been devoted to Renaissance Lit and Early Modern attitudes toward things like the meaning of a good education, and the place of magic, science, and initiation in society.
I'm taking my Latin online! Find me for Latin lessons and tutoring on Skype. In this effort, I'm attempting to surpass the basic video conference arrangement and create an experience that provides a truly great learning experience. I can break things down in ways the easiest books can't, all while finding something to suit your interests.
Fertility, Contraception, and Childbirth in Rome... The outcome of an independent study I put together as an undergrad at University of Florida... many many moons ago.
