Profile Information

Hometown/Institution:

Role in the Classics Classroom (real or virtual):
teacher
About Me:
I am Head of the Classics Department at my school, teaching Latin and Classical Greek. I am a graduate of the University of Sydney and completed my PhD in Classics with a thesis entitled "Aeneas in the Antipodes: the teaching of Virgil in NSW throughout the 20th century".
Favorite on-line spots for the Classics:
The Latin Library
Three Millennia of Greek Literature
The Classics Page
Favorite on-line spots for education:
I don't really have any. I search under topics that interest me and arrive at articles in Jstor which I usually print out to read.
Best/worst computer-related classroom happening:
Reading Aeneid 12. 684 ff- simile about a falling boulder that destroys everything in its way. Student immediately called up images of just such a happening in Italy recently on her laptop and sent the image to me and the whole class. It was a perfect illustration and so timely.
