About Me:
I'm just an old guy who loves Greek poetry. Mostly badly self-taught, I took my first year of Greek in 1980. Actually, it was a semester, but it was a year of Greek. Read Homer with a Columbia PhD candidate as my private tutor whom I paid (I never attended Columbia).

I can't be called a classical scholar by any stretch of the imagination. But I love Homer, Pindar, Theocritus, Sappho, Bakchylides, Aristophanes, Aeschylus, Sophokles, ktl. Started reading Homer in English when very young but had a difficult time getting into a situation where I could learn Greek. I think this site is da bomb.
