Conversational Latin in Second Life!

Andrew Reinhard, Director of eLearning for Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, invites you to attend the first-of-its-kind, Latin-language in-world event in Second Life. Create an avatar, grab your microphone, and join us!

Hosted as part of the upcoming ReLIVE 08 conference sponsored by the Open University at Milton Keynes, this workshop will explore new pedagogy for the old language, engaging conference participants in practicing their conversational Latin online. The fruits of the workshop will be recorded as machinima and will be put on YouTube. There is no charge for attending this event.

This sounds like a really great event, but Greenwich mean time (that's GMT right?) is like 8 hours ahead of us here, which puts this event at like 3am for Arizona...is that right?

Otherwise, I'd be interested in auditing at least; I've never tried conversation in Latin.

Comment by Andrew Reinhard on November 12, 2008 at 9:51am: You are correct! The conference I am attending is at the Open University in Milton Keynes, hence the outrageous hour. I am hoping there will be a few Latin geeks on this side of the pond who will stay up to play!

In other virtual news, I rolled an alt on the Feathermoon realm. Once he gets to 70 I will be using him to create an Alliance Classics guild to instance and PvP in either Latin or Greek via Vent. My toon's name is Cliothalion and he is currently a Lvl 24 NE dr00d spec'd in feral combat. Bear-tank ftw!
