</a><br />This is the first of three videos I grabbed during my "Latin in Second Life" workshop presented on November 21, 2008, at the ReLIVE08 (Researching Learning in Virtual Environments) Conference held at the Open University in Milton Keynes.<br />

In this clip, two avatars read from a posted dialogue as part of a warm-up for spoken Latin.<br />
<br />
Apologies for both the brevity of the clip and the poor audio quality. We learned during the session that Second Life Voice is really not the best choice for audio for a group. We'll use Skype for audio next time.<br />
<br />
The 90-minute session was held as a proof-of-concept to demonstrate to students and teachers that Second Life can be used as a viable learning space for foreign language practice. We held the session at Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers' Latin villa, Plot 31 of the Roma Subura. The villa is currently hung with Latin conversation-starters from both Latin for the New Millennium and Conversational Latin for Oral Proficiency.<br />
