It says for you and your class to report to the classroom in thrirt seconds haha."

"Who dares enter my domain? I have a story for you. In the beginning of time some five trillion years ago, the great titans of Gelgamar took root on Earth. Now these titans spoke a royal language: Latin. But there language was in chaos. It needed something to hold it together. What they needed were declensions! Agh! Soon three new titans were spawned from the pits of Eriador. Enter titan of the first declension! This titan was the eldest but very mischevious. Enter titan of the second declension! This titan was clever but more greedy than all the privateers of Kholos. Soon a new titan emerged, one more smart and powerful than all the titans of the land. Enter titan of the third declension haha! Soon the titans journeyed to the great peaks of Eriador, where they found the greatest food ever created...mala! Soon the attitudes of the titans grew weary of their low status, and they turned to rebellion!

mala=apple
caesus=cheese Latin in Second Life, 2 of 3 tag:eclassics.ning.com,2008-12-03:727885:Video:29409 2008-12-03T19:10:47.810Z Andrew Reinhard https://eclassics.ning.com/profile/amasis

This is the second of three videos I grabbed during my "Latin in Second Life" workshop presented on November 21, 2008, at the ReLIVE08 (Researching Learning in Virtual Environments) Conference held at the Open University in Milton Keynes.

In this clip, one avatar sings a portion of "Ecce Caesar".

Apologies for both the brevity of the clip and the poor audio…

This is the second of three videos I grabbed during my "Latin in Second Life" workshop presented on November 21, 2008, at the ReLIVE08 (Researching Learning in Virtual Environments) Conference held at the Open University in Milton Keynes.

In this clip, one avatar sings a portion of "Ecce Caesar".

Apologies for both the brevity of the clip and the poor audio quality. We learned during the session that Second Life Voice is really not the best choice for audio for a group. We'll use Skype for audio next time.

The 90-minute session was held as a proof-of-concept to demonstrate to students and teachers that Second Life can be used as a viable learning space for foreign language practice. We held the session at Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers' Latin villa, Plot 31 of the Roma Subura. The villa is currently hung with Latin conversation-starters from both Latin for the New Millennium and Conversational Latin for Oral Proficiency.

The SLURL for the Latin villa is:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/ROMA%20Su...

Andrew Reinhard
Director of eLearning
Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers
www.bolchazy.com
eclassics.ning.com
lnm.bolchazy.com Thrasymachus - θρασυμαχος ΧIV tag:eclassics.ning.com,2008-10-20:727885:Video:28218 2008-10-20T04:04:01.045Z Andrew Reinhard https://eclassics.ning.com/profile/amasis

New Saint Andrew's Junior Greek class oral final :)

μαλιστα! αυτο εστιν καλος!

New Saint Andrew's Junior Greek class oral final :)

μαλιστα! αυτο εστιν καλος!
