I'm not really able to give you very precise answers to your questions right now, I would need to do some research.
What I do know is this: My host Mypodcast.com takes $5 for every 1000 downloads of any advertising/sponsorship revenue I generate.
To date, NO podcast hosted by them has generated ANY revenue for them at all. i.e. not good for me, as I need them to stay afloat.
This base revenue is used to fund the service. Anything above this $5 level, goes to me. This is a good deal, compared to that offered by many other hosting companies. The alternative is to move the podcast (and lose users until they can find it again) to a service where I pay for it in toto. I would have to contact Libsyn and ask them to look at Latinum and give me an estimate.
Latinum is one of the highest bandwidth users on the Mypodcast service.
I have set the current advertising rate at $10 per 1000, which is not a high rate. This would bring me $500 USD a month, assuming 100 000 downloads per month, and with the caveat that I 'monetize' , as they say, every single download - not a realistic amount to compensate for the time I put in, but enough as an honorarium to compensate for preparation, recording, uploading, site maintenance, etc
What I am looking for is either an advertiser and/or sponsor/s. If necessary, I will reduce the amount that goes to offset my input, as the primary goal is to keep the podcast on air in the long term as a service that is free for users to access.
Evan.
